Arno Roger-Genersh
Arno Roger - Genersh was born in Lyon, France. He won a scholarship to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany where he studied portraiture under Professor Roth and French Impressionism with Mr Toussaint.
He moved to Australia in 1960 and has held 28 successful exhibitions since taking up permanent residence.
His commissions have included portraits of Albert Schweitzer, Cardinal Wendell of Bavaria, Dr Vogel, Lord Mayor of Munich and the former Australian Prime Minister, Robert J Hawke. Arno is well known for his 10 Rigby Sketchbooks on Australian Heritage sites.
He has won 23 prizes and awards at Art Shows and won second prize at the Salon International du Pastel in Lille, France.
Arno is co-founder of the Pastel Society of Victoria.
