Danny Benson is well renown for the unusual subject matter in his work, the use of humour turning the mundane into the bizarre with an underlying and social commentary.

While at University, and later as a teacher, Danny started painting. "Until then, the most that I had done was an occasional drawing. The idea of painting had never entered my head." 

Danny is now one of Tasmania's most exhibited artists and his work is highly collectable. Danny's paintings are cheerful - lots of bright colours and the occasional amusing theme.

Danny is no stranger to the local arts scene and has exhibited widely for over ten years and now works as a full time artist.
