Steve Howie
Steve Howie, who has had a varied introduction to drawing and painting, has developed a unique, recognisable style which is typified by his simplified but effective compositions of clear, glowing colour devoid of extraneous detail.
Buildings are reduced to simply defined planes, enhanced by shadows and foliage as seen in 'Hampden Road', in which the distant vermilion roofs leap towards the viewer, beyond the cobalt-mauve central road.
