Wendy Helleman
Wendy began her affair with glass after years of Adult Education courses and a Unit in Studio Glass Studies at the University of Tasmania in 2007.
Wendy is very passionate about glasswork. In 2010, she began successfully selling her fused and slumped glass range of work. Her first, the 'Antarctica in Glass' range was instantly well received. This was probably due to the combination of the beauty of the work, along with the 'subject' -- Hobart’s connection with Antarctic research and exploration. This series is based on sea ice photos taken by her husband Paul, during a voyage to Antarctica in 2008. She continues to produce this very popular range, which is available at our sister gallery Aspect Design, Salamanca Place.
Wendy continues to expand her capabilities with the introduction of two new exciting and colourful ranges currently available at Gallery Salamanca:
Mosaic of Colour - a vibrant patchwork of Tasmania's eastcoast.
Allsorts of Glass - fun, whimsy and nostalgic...it's glass that makes you smile!
